Why This Practice Exists
In the months after ChatGPT launched in late 2022, the world started to change faster than most organisations had frameworks for. Patrick Rechsteiner was running an electronics e-commerce business at the time — one that happened to be a supplier of NVIDIA GPUs, a product whose demand profile shifted almost overnight as gaming demand softened and enterprise AI infrastructure investment accelerated.
Watching that shift happen from inside a commercial P&L — feeling its impact on forecasting, inventory, channel strategy, and team confidence — crystallised something: the organisations navigating the AI transition most effectively were not the ones with the best AI tools. They were the ones with leadership that genuinely understood what AI meant for their business model.
